Small Mammals 2017-04-07T02:10:03+00:00

“Animals are such agreeable friends ― they ask no questions, they pass no criticisms.”

George Eliot, Author

The Animal Store is known as an exotic pet store because we carry so many different kinds of animals, including some small mammals that you may not find anywhere else in the area. Virtually all our small mammals are captive bred, with the current exceptions of prairie dogs and Virginia Opossums. These animals are wild caught for our store according to USDA guidelines.

All our small animals carry a 7-day health guarantee. Our staff and Jr. Critter Crew spend a lot of time handling and socializing our small animals so they are the best possible family pets. We stock all the supplies you need to keep your small animal happy and healthy.

Our staff knows what you need to know adopt any of our animals into your home. For example, it’s important for bonding that prairie dogs are adopted when they are young. Prairie dogs breed only in early spring, so they are only available from April through June. This is the kind of information you need for the best pet experience.
